Flo Tools 2026.8

This update features some fixes to issues that have crept in over time. There’s little in the way of new Flo Tools features but hopefully these adjusted macros will improve your experience while using Pro Tools.

As always, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? Actually, it’s not necessarily a bad thing when Flo Tools doesn’t require much maintenance. However, over time, things require updating because of UI elements being renamed by Avid, new behaviors, etc.

Fixes for Renamed UI Elements

The following commands stopped working over time because Avid has renamed various menus or buttons. Naturally, these commands in Flo Tools 2026.7 will not work as expected with earlier versions of Pro Tools where the buttons and menus reflect the older names.

Speak Selected Clips

Pressing Option+Command+, (Comma) now correctly reports which clips are currently selected in the Edit window.

Speak/Reset Peak Meter

The Flo Tools Inspector no longer says “verticle orientation” when resetting the Peak Value.

Speak/Select Elastic Audio Plugin

The Flo Tools Inspector now speaks the status of a track’s elastic Audio state.

Speak/Toggle Input Monitor

The flo Tools Inspector now speaks the input monitor status of a track when pressing the letter K.

Speak Input Monitor-Enabled Tracks, Disable Input Monitor On All Tracks

Flo Tools can once again speak the status of track input monitoring.

Speak/Choose Preset

To avoid a keyboard shortcut conflict, the modifiers for speaking or choosing a preset in the Plugin window have been changed to Option+Command+P rather than just Option+P.

Audio Suite Preset Shortcuts

A new addition to Flo Tools 2026.7 is the ability to speak and choose presets in the Audio Suite window. The keyboard shortcut is Option+Command+P which is the same as the shortcut in the Plugin window. Also, as in the Plugin window, Left bracket and Right Bracket selects the previous and next presets if available for the chosen plugin.

Pro Tools Intro Replacing Pro Tools First

Avid has retired Pro Tools First so support for First has been removed from Flo Tools. Flo Tools will continue to work with Pro Tools Intro as an entry-level version based on the user’s available license.

Flo Tools and Pro Tools Renaming

For those wishing to install multiple versions of Pro Tools on their system, Flo Tools will now work with any installed version of Pro Tools regardless of the name. For example, if you wish to keep an older version of Pro Tools installed alongside the current version, you can name the older version something like “Pro Tools 2025” and Flo Tools will recognize it and work as expected.

Conclusion (for now)

We hope these few fixes help make Pro Tools work more smoothly and reliably for you.
